Email Signature — Install Guide

Set up your branded signature on Mac, iPhone, and iPad. Apple Mail keeps signatures per-device — they do not sync over iCloud — so you install once on each device using the same copy-and-paste method.

STEP 1Copy the signature

  1. Open Sightline-Email-Signature.html in any web browser (double-click it).
  2. Click anywhere on the page, then press Cmd + A (Mac) to select all, and Cmd + C to copy.
  3. The signature is now on your clipboard with all formatting intact.
Easier path for phone & iPad: Email this signature to yourself first (see Step 3). On a phone, copying from a received email is more reliable than from a browser.

STEP 2Mac Mail

  1. Open Mail → menu bar → Mail › Settings (or Preferences) → Signatures tab.
  2. Select your account on the left, then click + to create a new signature. Name it Sightline.
  3. Important: uncheck "Always match my default message font" so the formatting is preserved.
  4. Click into the signature edit box on the right, delete any placeholder text, and paste (Cmd + V).
  5. Set "Choose Signature" at the bottom to Sightline so it's applied to new messages automatically.

STEP 3iPhone & iPad

  1. From your Mac (or any computer), email the signature to yourself: paste it into a new message body and send it to cameron@sightlinerealty.com.
  2. On the iPhone/iPad, open that email in Mail. Press and hold on the signature, choose Select All, then Copy.
  3. Go to Settings › Apps › Mail › Signature (on older iOS: Settings › Mail › Signature).
  4. Clear the box, then paste. Tap to shake / "Undo" nothing — if it pastes as plain text, see the note below.
  5. Repeat separately on each device — iPhone and iPad each store their own signature.
If the paste loses formatting on iOS: after pasting, select the pasted text, tap the formatting arrow, and it should retain styling from a rich copy. The email-to-self method preserves color and spacing far better than copying from Safari.

ALSOGmail or Outlook (web)

  1. Gmail: Settings (gear) → See all settingsGeneralSignature → create new → paste → Save Changes at the bottom.
  2. Outlook: File → Options → Mail → Signatures → New → paste → OK.
